Do all LGS instructors speak English? 

Yes, English is our first language. We understand that you probably want to be taught in your native language. 

I have previously had bad experiences with other ski schools - will you be different? 

We regularly hear horror stories of shouting instructors, children being left on the slopes and large class sizes. This is NOT what we do! We take pride in our service and promise to treat you kindly. 

Why don't LGS instructors run ski school (group lessons) for children under 6 yrs old? 

We have found from experience that young children require a lot of 'one-to one' attention, especially when they are first learning to ski. This is mainly to keep them safe - so that we can hold the front of their skis as they experience their initial slides and also to make sure they are secure when taking their first chairlift rides. We do offer private ski lessons in Les Gets for under 6's.

Where is your meeting place for lessons in Les Gets? 

Our lessons normally start/finish in front of the Yeti Restaurant (near the small ticket office), at the top of the Chavannes Telecabine (red eggs), but we are happy to discuss alternative meeting places if it fits our schedule.

Why are lessons with LGS instructors more expensive than local French ski schools? 

We believe that all our lesson prices reflect the quality of service you receive. We do not rely on large numbers to fill classes so therefore must charge more. Please remember, to qualify as a BASI ISTD level instructor, it's taken many, many years of hard training, assessment, commitment and expense. 

Why do you only offer private lessons, not ski school groups, for adults? 

We know how difficult it is to assess the abilities of adults before we see them ski or board. As a very general rule, blokes will over-estimate and ladies will under-estimate their capabilities. One person with a week's experience may be happy to tackle black runs, whilst others may not progress beyond the beginner slope. With private lessons you have the flexibility to put your own small group (up to 4 people) together. This should reduce the risk of finding yourself in an unsuitable group and it can also be extremely cost-effective. 

My child thinks ski school is boring! 

Our Les Gets based Junior Freeriders kids ski school groups are designed to be fun, challenging and exciting. We will ensure your children get as much skiing as possible, but still learn and improve dramatically. We understand that standing around for ages at the side of the slope can be really dull, so we keep explanations short, simple and effective. A lot of your child's progress will take effect by copying and following the instructor. The Les Gets ski area is perfect for Junior Freeriders small group lessons.

Are lift passes and/or ski-hire included in the lesson costs? 

No, the lesson cost only includes tuition. Most lessons will require local 'Les Gets/Morzine' lift passes, but the 'P'tite Glisse' lift pass is a good option for beginners. There are many ski hire shops in Les Gets but please ask us if you have any questions.
